Reviews of Tainted Democracy

Andrew Moravcsik was kind enough to review Tainted Democracy in the journal Foreign Affairs. Read it here. His conclusion? “[…] for readers seeking a balanced analysis of Hungary’s recent political evolution, this is the one.”

Jeffrey C. Isaac reviewed Tainted Democracy for the Los Angeles Review of Books. He gives a more detailed account of the book’s content than does Moravcsik, and draws comparisons with Trump’s America. In an analysis of how to push democracy forward, he considers that “Szelényi’s book is an excellent place to start.”

Perhaps one day I will manage to read this review in the TLS too, but at present my attempts are foiled by the paywall.
